Health Triggers – Become Your Own Health Detective

UPDATED: I first wrote this article in 2017, but it is worth readdressing after the last couple of years since new and unusually health triggers have been introduced.

Did you know that most diseases take an average of 8 to 12 years to develop? Autoimmune Disease, Arthritis, Diabetes, MS. . . . and, yes, even cancer. Even chronic conditions like asthma, allergies, or histamine intolerance are often developed over time.

Most people will have a hint that something is wrong long before a diagnosis. You may have insomnia for months or even years. You may have heartburn and/or indigestion when you eat certain foods. You may have constant diarrhea or constipation, or even gas and bloating after eating. You may have unexplainable skin issues or constant headaches or brain fog. You may have a nagging pain or feeling of anxiety that won’t go away.

These are just some of the signs that something is wrong. It is when these little things show up, when you find your life is out of balance, that you need to take notice. Your body is magnificently designed and it talks to you on a regular basis. Pay attention to it. And, pay attention to the health triggers in your life.

What Are Health Triggers?

A health trigger is anything that pushes you over the edge of being healthy one day and then not feeling well, either the next day or weeks or months later. Since each of us is unique, this trigger will be different for everyone.

There may be multiple triggers. Certain triggers, like toxins and EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies), can accumulate in the body over time. Then, suddenly, a new trigger is introduced that seems to “push you over the edge” into not feeling well.

Looking for health triggers in your life can be the difference between staying healthy and getting sick. The sooner you recognize a trigger and modify and/or remove it the better.

Health triggers can include any of the following: Continue reading

Home Remedies for Immune Strength

Are you having a harder time staying healthy? Easy home remedies for your immune system to the rescue.

The last couple of years has put a strain on everyone’s immune system and it’s showing up more and more. People who never used to get sick are getting hit. Others who used to get sick a few days have illnesses that linger.

Rather than recounting all the new stressors we have been exposed to more recently, I would like to give you additional tools to use at home to support your body. Read on to learn how to assist your immune system and have the tools to support your body at home should you get sick. Continue reading

Spring Cleaning For Strong Immune System

As a child I remember helping my mom “spring clean” the entire house, moving furniture and thoroughly cleaning every surface. I have to admit that I am not as diligent as my mom when it comes to my own house. However, Spring is a also a great time to clean out and prepare your body for the warmer months.

A good cleanse can help with allergies as well as your immune system. You also want to be prepared to support your body when bitten by ticks, fleas, and other bugs. And, don’t forget to limit your exposure to EMFs and wireless radiation, both of which can weaken your immune system. Learn more below. Continue reading

C-virus Part 4: Our Personal Journey

I have written before that I am not afraid of the c-virus. And, for the most part, I still believe that – even after a very bizarre personal family experience with the virus. Turns out it was the unknown things happening around us that were more nerve-wracking. As I tell you our story below, I will include things we did as a family to recover.

In early September, Continue reading

C-virus Part 3: Hope, Not Fear – Prevention and Healings Are Taking Place

UPDATE: Please note that certain search engines and social media platforms have been removing natural health videos and other information from their sites, so some of the links below may no longer be working. Dr. Brownstein’s office has been helping many with COVID-19 symptoms using natural remedies (with one resulting hospitalization and no deaths). He was censored and his interviews and website/blog were eventually shut down by the FDA because he had no studies to back up his successes.

This is not your typical narrative. Many on the front lines are making great strides and helping people. Despite what you have been hearing, it is possible to heal from COVID-19, even if you get very sick. I will be sharing a number of links, some of which are videos interviewing medical professionals and/or actual patients who recovered.

You can see the success stories for yourself. I want you to live with hope and not fear.

Yes, people have died, but now that we know more, many more are recovering even without going to the emergency room. Many, many more have had this virus with little to no incident. In fact, it is thought that as many as 50% may be asymptomatic! This is possible if your immune system is strong.

First I want to share with you the latest list of possible symptoms, since there are many more symptoms than originally thought. Be sure to continue to read to the end. This article contains much valuable information, including tools you should have at home. You will find the information useful, especially if you or someone you know gets sick. Continue reading

C-virus Part 2: More Safety Tips and New Dispensary Available

There are currently multiple states in the US with confirmed cases of the current strain of the coronavirus (c-virus) and unfortunately some reported deaths, including in Tennessee. Now that it has hit closer to home, I wanted to remind everyone to stay calm and in a place of peace.

If you listen to the news, it brings you to a place of fear. So much of the news consists of small sound bites that do not necessarily give you the bigger picture. Yes, people are dying from c-virus or the disease known as COVID-19. But, the numbers are much fewer when compared to the annual number of people who die from the flu. And, it’s the people with a compromised immune system that are most affected.

In fact, some of us are walking around with a virus of some sort and do not know it. If your immune system is strong, it is often able to fight off microbes without any symptoms. Most commonly, this new Corona virus causes symptoms very similar to the common cold. (More symptoms explained below and in my newer article here.)

Remember what I wrote previously. Staying calm and stress-free is a big part of staying healthy. Instead of feeling the need to “fight” the virus, continue to concentrate on building your immune system (as I explained in more detail here in Part 1) and using tools like meditation, prayer, and deep breathing to stay centered.

Another way to stay stress-free is to be prepared, just in case you or someone in your family gets sick. Read on to learn more about supplements and other immune building strategies. Continue reading

C-virus Part 1: Great Resources for Corona Virus Safety

Lots of information is being distributed by many sources about the new coronavirus (c-virus) and its related disease (COVID-19). I have been following it too, from my holistic-minded point of view.

I wanted to share with you a well-written, balanced article by a medical doctor I trust who has nicely organized the main facts and recommends many of the same things that I do.

See this article by holistic pediatrician Elisa Song, MD for the latest details.

Just like other viruses, people hit the hardest are the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

The good news is that children seem to be relatively protected from the COVID-19 with few getting sick compared to other age groups. Pregnant women who contract the virus in their third trimester are also continuing to have healthy babies.

Bottom line: KEEP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM STRONG.

What I wrote in this previous article about the last virus outbreak still applies: Protect Yourself from the Flu – Concentrate on Building Your Immune System. Keep reading below for many additional resources so that you can stay prepared.

In general, immune-building basics include: Continue reading

TEETH Part 3: More Things You Should Know Before You See A Dentist

Dental work done incorrectly can potentially create severe health problems. It is really important to educate yourself and ask questions before you have work done in your mouth. In this Part 3 of my series on teeth, I will explain the pros and cons of various dental procedures.

In Part 1, I introduced you a tooth chart and a link so you can determine how each tooth corresponds to your organs and other body parts. You learned how problems with your teeth, such as cavities, gum issues, and/or infections in your mouth, can indicate health issues in other parts of your body.

In Part 2, I explained how the wrong dental materials and dental procedures can cause health issues if you are not careful, especially amalgam fillings. I introduced you to the concept of biocompatible materials and explained how to safely get your amalgam fillings removed and replaced.

In this article I give you an overview of other common dental procedures, including everything from a dental cleaning to a tooth implant. The tips below will assist you. Each procedure should be done with caution. In many cases, there is an optimum way to proceed.

You should also be as healthy as possible before having a dental procedure, making sure your immune system is strong, since the stress of the dental procedure itself can take a toll on the body.

Food Symptoms: Do the Foods You Eat Affect Your Health?

I know first hand that the foods we eat affect our health. I learned this early, when I was sixteen, after being on penicillin daily for 6 years. I had rheumatic fever and I was told that I would need to be on antibiotics indefinitely, or until my monthly throat cultures started coming back negative. The cultures never did, until I changed my eating habits. In fact, within one month of changing my diet my cultures started coming back negative and stayed that way for a whole year, at which time I was officially done with rheumatic fever.

And it was not just me. My whole family started eating better and there were four of us that could stop taking penicillin daily. This was back in the 1970s when Pringles, Kraft Singles, Kool-Aid, and Tang were all the rage. We stopped eating and drinking those. We also stopped eating Special K cereal for breakfast and Hostess HoHo’s as our lunch desert.

In addition to removing the processed foods, we also started eating more whole foods like oatmeal and seeds for breakfast, fruit for snacks, and a green side salad with every evening meal. We cleaned up our diet and it healed us.

Not only did improving my diet as a teenager heal my rheumatic fever, I also stopped getting chronic swimmers ear, my dyslexia started improving, I no longer got car sick, and I started getting better grades in school.

TEETH 101: Healthy Teeth and Gums Indicate a Healthy Body

Most people do not realized that their teeth are windows to their overall health.

Did you know that each tooth in your mouth represents a different part of your body? Your teeth are connected by energy pathways to different organs and glands as well is different vertebrae, muscles, joints, sinus organs and even emotions. In fact, everything in your body is interconnected.

That means that if you are having problems with your teeth, like a cavity or infection, you need to address your teeth as well as other specific parts of your body. And, vice versa. If you are having unexplainable health problems, you should also consider your teeth. Unhealthy teeth and/or improper dental work can compromise your health.

There are many aspects to consider when it comes to teeth. It is much more than running to the dentist every time you have a problem. If you know what to look for, your teeth can give you clues to your overall health and what you need to address in your body.

I learned some things the hard way. My hope is that you do not have to. Let me show you how to look at your teeth in a different way.

In this article, I will explain the close relationship between the teeth and the rest of the body. In a future article, I will discuss the pros and cons of various dental procedures and how to select a good dentist. Continue reading

How to Reduce Your Risk for Cancer – 7 Key Things to Consider in Your Daily Life

astroblu-216We are all susceptible to cancer. In fact, each of us has cancer cells in our body on a regular basis. If your immune system is strong, it keeps these cancer cells in check. The good news is that there are many things we can do to keep our immune system strong and help prevent cancer as well as other chronic illnesses.

Below are 7 key things to consider. Be sure to take the cancer quiz too (see inset below)!

1 – Reduce Your Toxins
Environmental toxicity is estimated to cause 3/4 of all cancers. Babies come into the world today with over 200 chemical toxins in their body and we continue to accumulate toxins throughout our lifetime.

It is critical to live a life as clean as possible, being aware of: Continue reading

Have the Flu or Stomach Bug? – Use Natural Remedies and Come Back Strong

There is a myriad of illnesses going around right now. This invariably occurs each year as we move towards Spring, when the weather and temperatures keep fluctuating. . . .flu, congestion, stomach virus, sore throat, fever.

In my family, two of us had a stomach bug recently. The good news is that we both recovered from the worst of it in about 24 hours – using natural remedies. I wanted to share some of the things we typically do when we get “under the weather” in the hopes that it will help you. Continue reading

The Wonder of Lemons

As a fruit, the lemon is typically too tart to eat on its own. In fact, most people think lemons are acidic. They may taste that way in the mouth but once inside your digestive system, your body considers lemon juice alkaline.

Lemon juice has many healing uses. The wonder of lemons include: Continue reading

Most people do not think about their adrenal glands on a regular basis. However, whenever you get stressed, these two small glands work hard to support you.

This past month my adrenal glands have been in overdrive as we sold our old house and moved to a fixer-upper. We have been moving from room to room as a contractor works around us getting things in order. There are still boxes everywhere and work to be done.

One way to help overworked adrenals is to Continue reading

Does Your Immune System Need a Little Help?

“Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.” – Author Unknown

Have you heard the most recent statistic? The flu shot this year has only been 23% effective. Many of those who got the flu shot are still getting sick with the flu.

If you have followed me for any length of time, you already know I am not a big fan of the flu shot. There are a number of reasons, but most importantly, the shot knocks down your immune system just when you need it the most.

There is also much discussion Continue reading
