Digital Dementia: Do You or Your Child Have It?

Digital Dementia - Do You Have It?

Have you heard about digital dementia? What about “tech trance” or “computer coma?” These are real concerns that health practitioners are seeing around the world . . . and health problems that are starting to be backed up by science.

We are all spending more time on screens than ever before – smart phones, computers, tablets, smart watches, e-readers, etc.  Even basic toddler toys now have screens in them.

All these screens are creating a new health crisis: digital dementia.

It is affecting our brain, causing problems for children and adults alike. We are literally losing brain function and, in some cases, brain size. This is a result of multiple factors that center around using screens: addiction, loss of one-on-one social interaction, exposure to EMFs and wireless radiation, and the effects of the blue light being emitted from these devices.

If you want to become less addicted, less anxious, less anti-social, and rebuild your brain, read on to find out more. As I explain the problems and the strategies for change, learn how you can make changes for yourself and your family.

Leaky Roofs, Alzheimer’s, and Healing Your Body

What does a leaky roof and your health have in common?

I was recently reminded of a concept that I first learned from Dr. Dale Bredesen in his book The End of Alzheimer’s. As he explains in detail in his book, Bredesen is having great success helping those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, helping them recover and return to leading full lives.

In his book, Bredesen makes an analogy between someone with Alzheimer’s and a roof with holes, or what I like to call a leaky roof.

He determined a total of 36 health markers that can compromise the brain, causing it to degrade. These markers include those that can be measured, such as brain-related peptides, hormones, and neurotransmitters, as well as lifestyle factors like quality of sleep and stress levels. (See details below.) Continue reading

EMF Detox – How to Discharge Extra Energy From Your Body

EMFs and wireless technology, collectively known as electrosmog, are not going anywhere. I was reminded tonight when we stopped for dinner at our local Panera Bread. And, I was reminded of the need to regularly do an EMF detox.

Don’t get me wrong, we like this place. It is actually the closest thing to fast food that we do as a family. (We have learned to customize our meals to eliminate trigger foods like GMOs, gluten, bad oils, and other more processed selections.)

However, tonight we noticed something new. When we were eating at the tables, I happened to touch under our table and observed what you see in the picture above. . . Yes, we actually flipped over the table to take a better look and we found another form of electrosmog, which I will explain in more detail below.

It prompted me to write this article as a reminder that all of us are exposed to electrosmog on a regular basis. When we are out and about, we are continuously being exposed to electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs), wireless (Wi-Fi) radiation, and dirty electricity. It is not optimal, but there are EMF detox strategies you can do to lessen its effects on your body as you will learn below. Continue reading

How to Reduce Your Risk for Cancer – 7 Key Things to Consider in Your Daily Life

astroblu-216We are all susceptible to cancer. In fact, each of us has cancer cells in our body on a regular basis. If your immune system is strong, it keeps these cancer cells in check. The good news is that there are many things we can do to keep our immune system strong and help prevent cancer as well as other chronic illnesses.

Below are 7 key things to consider. Be sure to take the cancer quiz too (see inset below)!

1 – Reduce Your Toxins
Environmental toxicity is estimated to cause 3/4 of all cancers. Babies come into the world today with over 200 chemical toxins in their body and we continue to accumulate toxins throughout our lifetime.

It is critical to live a life as clean as possible, being aware of: Continue reading

Help Your Body Naturally Detox – Six Things You Can Do Starting Today

We are bombarded with toxins on a daily basis. From the foods we eat to the products we put on our body and the air we breath, chemicals and other toxins find their way into our bodies, our organs, and our cells. Even our thoughts and emotions create toxins.

The good news is that our body has naturally defense mechanisms that help eliminate some of these toxins. Continue reading

The Wonder of Lemons

As a fruit, the lemon is typically too tart to eat on its own. In fact, most people think lemons are acidic. They may taste that way in the mouth but once inside your digestive system, your body considers lemon juice alkaline.

Lemon juice has many healing uses. The wonder of lemons include: Continue reading

Let’s Talk About Poop

Do you talk about poop at the dinner table? We did when I was growing up. My Mom, being a Naturopathic Doctor, asked each one of us if we had a good bowel movement that day.

I continue the tradition in my family.

Your poop can tell you a lot about your body. How often you go, how long it takes you, and what it looks like in the toilet are all clues. If your bowel movements are off, you are more likely to get sick – becoming more susceptible to germs and other more chronic conditions. Your stools are also a good indication if you are eating appropriately.
