I wanted to share a wonderful book I recently discovered, called Enjoy Life: Healing with Happiness. Written by Dr. Lynn Johnson, it is based on scientific research and provides lots of examples of how to increase the happiness in your life. It is a short read and includes many practical exercises you can do on your own.
During this holiday season, my family has decided to do the “Appreciation Journal.” Every day in a journal, each of us will write down one thing we appreciate. After six weeks, it is supposed to drastically improve your outlook on life. Dr. Johnson has even used this exercise to heal many people of depression, especially if the person continues to do the exercise once a week for “maintenance.”
