Are You Prepared for Allergy Season?

Allergy season is almost here.

In Nashville, we have been having lots of rain too, which means that mold spores are also high. This will make allergy season even worse for some.

However, there is hope. If you read my allergy blog post last year, you know that seasonal allergies often occur due to an over burdened immune system. Think about it. If your body is busy trying to digest foods you should not be eating, clearing your body of toxins like pesticides, preservatives, and body products, trying to compensate for overworked adrenals, etc. how can you expect your body to deal with seasonal pollen and mold?

Here are a few tips to help you through the season:

  • Stop eating dairy, even if it is only during allergy season. Milk, cheese, and yogurt are all mucus producing and put an extra burden on the body. Be sure to check your packaged foods as many contain dairy or dairy by-products.
  • Do a cleanse. There are many options available. The main goal is to clear and open your channels of elimination (liver, kidney, bowels, etc.) so that your body is more prepared for the extra burden of pollen and fungus. There is a great homeopathic cleanse that I use with my clients that is easy to add to your typically daily regimen. Many clients have found relief from seasonal allergies if they start this cleanse before allergy season begins. Contact me for more information.
  • Eat more green vegetables, especially leafy greens. Things like lettuce, kale, and broccoli are easier to digest than dairy, meat, and grains, giving your digestive system a break so your body has energy for other things.
  • Add more garlic and onion to your meals for natural immune support. Other ideas and suggestions for building your immune system can be found here.

For long term relief of allergy symptoms you usually need to delve deeper. You can read more about this in my previous allergy post. Also consider getting a BioEnergetic Assessment geared specifically to allergies to find out more about what your body specifically needs. Contact me for more information.

Prepare your body, especially before allergy season begins, and it will thank you!
